Skills Levelling Process
View transcript
Hi. Welcome to the first step of your LPT Learning Path journey: Skills Levelling. This is a shared process between you and your manager to reflect on your current skills, discuss development areas and set the direction for your growth. Start by downloading the Learning Path document for Level 1 from the LPT Certification Hub. On the home page of the file, you'll find a helpful outline of the full process and links to each section. Take a moment to look around. Everything is clearly labelled to guide you through. On the skills levelling sheet, you'll see a list of skills and competencies with two columns, one for you and one for your manager. For each skill, use the drop down menu to choose one of the following. Meets Requirements. You consistently demonstrate this skill to the expected level. In Progress. You're working on this skill, but it's not consistent yet. Not yet started. You haven't worked on this skill yet. Or need more exposure. There's also a comment box where both you and your manager can add reflections, examples or notes for future development. This is meant to be a two-way conversation. Honest, supportive and focused on growth. Once the sheet is completed, the evaluation tab will calculate the percentage of skills marked as 'Meets requirements.' It's important to click on 'Data', then 'Refresh all', for it to re-calculate. If you've achieved 80% or more, that's your green light to move on to the next level. For example, if you hit 80% or more at Level 1, you'll start your learning path from Level 2. But remember, there's no rush. Everyone's journey is different and the goal here is meaningful progress, not perfection. Once you and your manager have completed the skills leveling and you know your starting point, you're ready to move into the learning path itself, which we'll cover in the next video. Until then, take your time with this step, be honest in your reflections and use it as a moment to focus on your development. Your future growth starts here.
